PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY
Because the Bible declares, “We proclaim Him, admonishing every man
and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor,
striving according to His power, which mightily works within me” Col 1:28-29
At Community of Faith Bible Church we are “maturing disciples to make disciples” who will know and love God for His glory.
Our philosophy articulates the way CFBC actively seeks to fulfill that goal. We center all of our times of fellowship, whether
small or large, formal or informal, around the ministries of the Word of God, prayer, and encouraging one another.
Community of Faith Bible Training Hour: This is our Sunday School/Christian Ed (for all ages).
We will lay the foundation for godly living one biblical truth upon another until we’ve all learned the full counsel of God. Acts
20:27, “declaring to you the whole purpose of God.” In order to live out the Bible, we first have to learn what it teaches.
Following a three-year plan, we will learn the themes, theology and practical theology of the Bible.
Community of Faith Corporate Worship: This is where everyone gathers on the Lord’s Day in Public
Worship (Deut 31:12-13; Neh 12:43; Ps 78:1-7; Matt 14:21; 15:38; Luke 2:42-49).
During Sunday Worship, CFBC gathers to offer God acceptable worship, to hear, learn, and heed His Word (1 Pet 2:4-5).
Here parents (in particular, fathers) model and train their children to worship God. In public worship, God powerfully
ministers to His people and directs them to serve Him as one body through the preaching of His Word. He delights in
accepting our public response of adoration to Him. He in turn blesses us and our children as He enjoys our pleasing fragrant
aroma of worship.
Community of Faith Lighthouses: Throughout the week we will gather in Church Family Fellowship
throughout all of Los Angeles.
Throughout the week, we will gather in tight knit communities throughout Greater Los Angeles to care for one another (Acts
2:46) and to shine the light of the gospel throughout our city (Acts 5:28). Through our Lighthouses, CFBC will build itself up
into greater Christ-likes as to live out the “one anothers” in community together (Eph 4:12-16) and (2) we will “Go!” (Matt
28:19) to reach our neighbors throughout all of Greater Los Angeles, sharing the Gospel with them for Christ.
Community of Faith Discipleship Groups: Mark 3:13-14 (for all of our groups).
Jesus commanded us to “Make disciples . . . teaching them to obey all that I command,” Matt 28:19-
Jesus modeled disciple-making in how He trained the twelve in a small group. Through our Men’s, Women’s, High School,
and Married couple’s fellowships we will seek to provide small group discipleship ministries so that we can apply the Word of
God to the specific needs of each member of CFBC and model for them how to follow Christ.
Community of Faith Teaching Teachers Ministry: Servant Ministry Training
“The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able
to teach others also,” 2 Tim. 2:2. Our pastoral leaders will through training sessions, small groups and on the job training
equip the leaders of CFBC to serve the saints of CFBC.
Teacher Training: All teachers and potential teachers will be equipped in Bible study methods (hermeneutics and exegesis)
and in teaching methods (homiletics).

Pastoral/Internship Training: Interns will regularly meet with Pastor Kidd and receive comprehensive on the ministry training.
Community of Faith in One on One Relationships (This is how we will strive to live 24/7)
God has equipped all believers to minister to one another (Rom 15:14). At CFBC we are encouraging and equipping all of
our members to ministry the Word of God to one another and to share the Gospel with unbelievers. These relationships
should happen naturally as God providentially helps us to help one another.
Community of Faith Reaching the Lost (Matt 5:13-16)
We believe that all of the members of CFBC comprise a kingdom of priests, ambassadors of Christ, those given by God the
ministry of reconciliation. Therefore, we regularly share the gospel to children through the ministries of Child Evangelism and
Christian Released Time, to our seniors in convalescent homes, to youth in custody, to the homeless through the Union
Rescue Mission, on Foreign Mission fields in Africa and Haiti and the Dominican Republic and to our local communities
through our evangelism team, to all of our spheres.
